Opening Song    All Hail the Power

Litany (Lectionary reading - Psalm 23)

Leader: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
People: He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.

Leader: He restores my soul; he leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
People: Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me.

Leader: Your rod and your staff — they comfort me.
People: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

Leader: You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
People: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

ALL: And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

Declaration of Faith - The Apostle’s Creed

I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, I believe in Jesus Christ,  God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day, He rose again; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father; and he will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit; the Holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the everlasting life. Amen.

Call to Confession

LEADER: Morning by morning, Father God awakens us. He opens our ears and calls us to listen, to obey, to follow. But how often we turn away. How often we speak words that wound instead of heal, close our ears to the voice of the Spirit, and grow weary of doing good. Let us confess our sin to the Son of God who helps us, who vindicates us, and who draws near in mercy.

Silent Confession

Song Sweet Hour of Prayer

Assurance of Pardon

Leader: Friends, hear and receive the good news! Who is in a position to condemn?

People: Jesus the Christ, but Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us

Leader: In Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Go in Peace

ALL: Thanks be to God. Amen

Joys and Concerns

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
